A Dublin City Hall Wedding - Lorna and Phil

This wedding was a special one for me, for many reasons. It was my first non-UK wedding. It was my first Halloween wedding. Most importantly though, it was my brother’s wedding. Not many people get to photograph their little brother’s wedding, right?
It was an absolute joy to do, of course. The wedding was amazing - full of little touches and surprises - and both Lorna and Phil had the time of their lives with their family and friends.

Here are a some shots from their big day.

Those of you that know him might not have known this - I certainly didn’t - but it turns out Phil is (or at least can be) pretty smooth! On the morning of the wedding he sent a gift and card to Lorna. A ‘thank you’ card. ‘Because thank you is something I don’t say enough’. Smooth move, right?

Hair and make up done? Check.

Flowers and amazing shoes ready to go? Check.

There are many great things about Dublin’s City Hall but this staircase is right up there.

When you have a such a nice staircase, you might as well make the most of it. Phil took the short walk up to get some pictures with his wife.

By this point their guests had all began making their way to the Clayton Hotel at Ballsbridge for the reception. Phil and Lorna had a few stops along the way to the hotel though.

One of them being here. A picture with the famous Dublin Smokestacks in the backgroung was a must for these two. Their first home together was not too far from here so this place holds great memories.

It wasn’t too long before they were back with their guests at the picturesque Clayton Hotel in Ballsbridge.

One of the (many) lovely little touches Lorna and Phil added to their big day was these two pictures next to their cake. The one on the left was from the first time they met (at a wedding 10 years ago to the day). The one on the right was taken about 30 minutes before this picture, in front of the smokestacks. This required a rather rushed printing, but we got it done!

Another little touch they arranged was a Halloween party for the kids in a separate room to the main reception. It was a huge success and they all had a blast.

While we are talking about little touches, Lorna surprised Phil with this little nod to his favourite football team. I know - she’s too good to him, right?

A wedding on Halloween definitely requires a make up artist. The kids and adults alike loved it.

Lorna and Phil had 90’s cover band Smash Hits entertain their guests. Clearly they did a stellar job!

Did you even get married on Halloween if you didn’t end the night looking like this?
