A Glenmore House Wedding

Avani and Rick were married yesterday at Surbiton’s impressive Glenmore House, and it was a heck of a day (and night!)

Avani got ready at their home in Surbiton with her sisters.

She then made her way over to Glenmore House where Rick was nervously awaiting her arrival.

He didn’t have to wait long though.

The ceremony was really lovely, filled with smiles and laughter and Avani and Rick’s guests broke out in a wonderful applause when it was all sealed with a kiss!

It was one of those days where you have to play ‘dodge the rain’ in terms of getting outside for some pictures, but with a brief dry spell almost immediately after the ceremony - and with the help of Glenmore House superstar Faye, we were able to get everyone out for a confetti shot.

And I was also able to grab 10 minutes with Avani and Rick for some couple’s portraits. I like these two because Rick, ever the gentleman, held the bouquet to allow Avani a free hand to keep her dress off of the wet ground.

They told me that on their first date they greeted each other with a handshake and so this picture was a must.

One of my favourite things about Glenmore House is that there is a little balcony in the main hall which means you can get pictures like this.

I don’t usually post pictures from the speeches in these little blog posts but I thought it was just great when best man Tom revealed this huge cardboard cut out of a young Rick to the room’s delight!

They had a really sweet and romantic first dance.

And then it was party time! Throughout the course of the day both Avani and Rick (and a fair few of their guests) told me that they were really looking forward to the party, so I expected it to be quite the celebration - and it certainly was. I headed back to the balcony to get some shots of the dancing without anyone knowing I was there, which worked well, until… I was spotted!

But despite my location being revealed, the party raged on and the dancefloor was packed.

Remember cardboard Rick? See if you can spot where he ended up?

Did you spot him?
Well, even if you didn’t, these two certainly did.

Before I left I was able to take the very happy couple back outside for a few night-time portraits, which I was very happy about, especially given how little outside time the rain had allowed us earlier in the day.

That’s all for this little sneak peek, folks.
I’ll add one or two more pictures from this day to the Facebook and Instagram pages as I edit them, so feel free to follow along over there.

Massive thanks to all at Glenmore House, especially Faye who was amazing from start to finish. Thanks also to all of Avani and Rick’s guests for being so great and welcoming.

Huge congratulations to Avani and Rick - you two are amazing and I hope (well, I know because it was very clear) that you enjoyed your big day!
