A Winter Wedding at South Downs Manor

Well what can I say about these two legends!?
After being postponed and then postponed again, yesterday, on a wintery Sunday at Southdowns Manor, Gemma and Lee finally had their big day.

Once the dress was on and it was just a few minutes before showtime, Gemma couldn’t quite believe the moment had arrived.

And her Dad couldn’t quite believe it either.

Meanwhile Lee was downstairs awaiting the arrival of his beautiful bride - she didn’t keep him waiting long.

It was a really beautiful ceremony, filled with laughter and love - and all sealed with a kiss!

And well, if you can’t do a celebratory dance down the aisle after you finally tie the knot, then when can you!?

Gemma and Lee’s guests were excited to absolutely drown them in confetti and they did a wonderful job. They got it everywhere - even in the mouth!

It was a cold, crisp but beautiful afternoon and these two were brave enough to take a little stroll around the manor gardens with me to get some pictures.

Oh, and how cool did Gemma and her girls look in their custom denim jackets?

We were getting close to party time but first we had dinner and speeches. This little guy is by far the youngest person I’ve seen give a speech - he did a great job though!

And then, just like that, the room was cleared and it was time for cake cutting and dancing!

Now I mentioned it was a cold day didn’t I?
Well just before it was time for me to leave, it began snowing! In all the weddings I’ve shot over the years, I’ve never had snow at one before… So I grabbed an umbrella and took the happy couple outside for one more shot…

That’s all for this little sneak peek, folks.
I’ll add one or two more pictures from this day to the Facebook and Instagram pages as I edit them, so feel free to follow along over there.

Huge thanks to all at Southdowns Manor, especially Lucy, for taking such good care of me and for making sure the day went smoothly. Thanks too to all of Gemma and Lee’s wonderful guests for making me so welcome and for keeping me laughing all day (and for being a lovely, photogenic bunch, of course.

Huge congratulations to the very happy couple and thanks for having me at your special day.

You’ll Never Walk Alone!
